About

Hi, I am Jen. I am a writer, mom, and DC area native, and I love traveling. Seriously, I LOVE it!

Before I was a parent, I traveled all the time; I am from the United States but have traveled all over, including as far as Tokyo, Japan.

I started my professional life working for AAA as a travel consultant before moving on to a career in IT and as a writer.

I have three young children, and having young kids combined with a pandemic has kept me from flying much until recently. Traveling with kids is much easier in a car.

Air travel with babies is a pain, and while I did do it when I had two kids, trying to fly with three was not happening until they were out of car seats and strollers.

So, now I have a bit of freedom and have spent the last year traveling again, and let me tell you, I was in for a surprise. Things have changed!

Airlines have always needed to find ways to make more money to make up for rising costs. So I knew to expect to pay extra for everything. But I did not expect almost every flight to have delays, cancellations, and maintenance issues.

But it seems this is the norm these days.

My most recent experiences were so convoluted and honestly hilarious in hindsight that I decided to start this website to document some of the crazier stories of airline travel gone wrong.

I found I was not alone in dealing with this, a common phenomenon. I am a writer and website owner and already cover tech and parenting topics on my other two websites:

https://momtechblog.com and https://breastfeedingneeds.com

I will also cover more rational topics here too, such as tips I have learned to up your chances of NOT having to deal with cancellations and delays.

Your rights as a passenger.

The best time and dates to fly.

Ways to save money and hassle.

And my favorite travel products and ideas to make getting through those inevitable delays and cancellations easier.

Please let me know if you have any questions!
